Another Boko Haram leader arrested in Ondo

THE NEWSGHOST, NIGERIA – According to report, Mohammed Basha, one of the leader of the Boko Haram sect, was arrested yesterday, Sunday, October 1, 2017, in Isua Akoko area of Akoko South-East Local Government Area of Ondo by the Ondo State Police Command.

Just six days ago, one Idris Babawo, believed to be one of the leaders of the dreaded Boko Haram sect, was also apprehended in the same location by the Ondo State Police command.

Femi Joseph, the Public Relations Officer of Ondo State Police Command, said that the suspect was arrested by the Anti-Crime Unit of the command while parading the Isua-Ifira Akoko Road.

The suspect confessed he belonged to the group when he was interrogated.

Joseph said:

‘When the suspect was interrogated, he confessed that he was a member of Boko Haram. He said his father is from Niger Republic, while his mother is from Maiduguri in Borno State.

‘He said when Maiduguri was hot for him, he ran to Nasarawa State last month and he left Nasarawa yesterday (Saturday) and came down to the South-West to hide here.

‘He also confessed that one Daffo is his team leader, while Shekau is still the overall leader of the group.’

Joseph said some items suspected to be charms were found on Basha and he assured that Basha is still in the secure custody of the command.
