Buhari arrives London for medical checkup

After receiving the 82 released Chibok girls at the presidential villa in Abuja on Sunday, May 7, President Muhammad Buhari left Nigeria for further medical checkup in the United Kingdom (UK).

On arriving at London, he reportedly tweeted to reassure Nigerians that his administration will run smoothly in his absence.

His (@MBuhari) tweet read:

‘As I noted earlier, I have absolute confidence that government will continue to run smoothly while I’m away. God bless the Federal Republic.’

In his absence Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will act as president.

Buhari’s media aide, Femi Adesina, disclosed that the duration of the president’s stay in London will be determined by doctors.
