THE NEWSGHOST, NIGERIA – The Presidency has dismissed rumours that President Muhammadu Buhari has been put in life support in London where is receiving medical treatment.
The rumour reportedly began to spread around the nation on Sunday, May 14. But, Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, has dismissed it as false, describing it as, ‘plain lies spread by vested interests to create panic.’
Shehu maintained that nothing unpleasant has happened to the president.
In a series of recent tweets, he said:
‘Baseless rumours are trending again that an unpleasant things has happened to our beloved president, Muhammadu Buhari.
‘If you have received this information on WhatsApp or Facebook, disregard it because it is plain lies spread by vested interests to create panic.
‘Nothing unpleasant has happened to the president. No cause for apprehension.’
