Coronavirus continues: Schools in Nigeria close over spread of virus

THE NEWSGHOST, NIGERIA – Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Education has announced the closure of all schools and tertiary institutions in the country, according to a recent report.

With immediate effect on Unity schools who have concluded examinations, while the Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu has given others an ultimatum to shut down.

This comes as a preventative and proactive measure against the fast spreading coronavirus epidemic.

Given that the country’s count of infected individuals presently sits at 12, the minister has, through his Permanent Secretary, prescribed the closure as the next step.

All Unity schools are expected to close this weekend, while the various institutions have been given until the 26th of March, 2020.
