Everton FC signs 20-year old Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru

THE NEWSGHOST, NIGERIA – The English Premier League (EPL) football club Everton FC has completed the signing of Henry Onyekuru, the 20-year old Nigerian Super Eagles striker who had his national debut in the international friendly against Corsica last month at the Stade François Coty, Ajaccio, on the tiny island of Corsica.

Report reveals that Onyekuru had a medical appointment at Everton FC’s Finch Farm training base on Monday, June 26.

The club bidded for the striker in a £7 million deal. Onyekuru sealed a five-year deal in the end and is expected to receive as much as £40,000 weekly.

According to report, Onyekuru pulled the interest of many football clubs after scoring 24 goals last season for the Belgium club KAS Eupen. The clubs that showed interest in the striker include: Arsenal, Swansea, Liverpool, Chelsea, Bournemouth, Schalke 04, PSG, Borussia Dortmund, West Ham, Nice and PSG.

Onyekuru will be loaned out to Anderlecht for the next 12 months to continue his development in Belgium.
