Nigeria: Government declares Friday public holiday

THE NEWSGHOST, NIGERIA – Friday, December 1, has been declared public holiday by the federal government (FG) to celebrate Eid-el-Maulud celebration.

The declaration was made by Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (RTD), the Minister of Interior, on behalf of the federal government (FG), in a statement by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Abubakar Magaji, on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, report says.

The minister urged all Muslim and Nigerians at large to use the occasion to pray for peace, progress and unity of the country. He further said that all Nigerians should support the current administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari towards his ambition in building the nation.

The statement said:

‘The minister wishes Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Maulud celebration.’
