THE NEWSGHOST, NIGERIA — Contrary to the widely publicised news of resumption dates for schools being set, schools will no longer be opening at the previously mentioned times.
In an address to state house correspondents yesterday, July 8, Minister of Education Adamu Adamu asserted that it is still unsafe for resumptions of any sort.
The minister affirmed that it would be better for an entire academic year to be lost than any more lives in light of the unbridled pandemic.
National examinations like West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) exams have also been pushed forward indefinitely.
The nation’s current number of active COVID-19 cases now rests at over 17,000.
